CFR22 is not the law. INA is the law. I could not find it in INA, that is all we need.

Is there any specific center we should be sending our 485 application. I have applied for I140 from Nebraska, can I apply for 485 in Texas...

I can tell you there are roughly 100,000 labor applications filed (50,000 EB3) between Aug 2003 and Dec 2003 for EB India category. The reason was everybody wanted to clear thru regular process before PERM takes over. Those Labors filed after Aug 2003 and before PERM started are moved into backlog and are fully cleary last 4 th quarter. And so 90% of those EB3s may be still there (45,000) hanging. EB2s could have been cleared substantially till Dec 2003. It is all my guess work and not sceintific or factual.

Yes they may be by some people. But the rules of this forum state quite clearly, that cussing is NOT welcome. This website is often frequented by members of the Senate/Congress (not the actual lawmakers themselves ofcourse, but their support staff). Do we really want them to see "highly skilled professionals" cussing left and right on them? No.

Simple reason USCIS will tell you/senator/judge/anyone who really seek the resolution of our loooooong delayed cases is.....case is in security/background/additional review checks.....so everyone will shut their mouth and forward this message to the concerned person.....

Yeah they have to follow the 180 day rule in that case.....if the NC is pending.

I told them it�s almost one a month, I didn�t get my card yet. Then they gave me a token number and when my turn came. I met the USCIS officer he wasn�t much help at all. he just gave me 551 stamp for 1yr and when I asked him about biometric he said last year I took in Oct-07 its good till next month and I don�t need it.
I was expecting 551 stamp look like h1 visa stamp, but it�s just an ordinary stamp.
After coming home I called USCIS asked them about the card. She told me that card was sent out for production today and I should get it within 1 week to 30 days. Because it was sent out today that�s the reason I didn�t get the email update

Q: I am in the Rest of the world chargeability area. My category is EB-3. My priority date is July 27, 2006. Do you think that my priority date will be current in the coming June 2008 visa bulletin. The May 2008 bulletin's cutoff date in my category and chargebility is March 1, 2006.
A: Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if your priority date will be become current next month. Sometimes the priority dates stay the same for many months, or become unavailable completely like last summer. At times, the dates may jump many months or even years. We can not speculate when your date will become current, as it is truly unpredictable

I think we should be careful about what we (Employment based immigrats, esp. those who are stuck in backlogs) support. I definitely do not support any reform that does not give us priority or does not eliminate employment based immigration backlogs.
I also think green card lottery, chain immigration, and refugee green cards should be eliminated and those visa numbers should be used for employment based immigrants because all these people can immigrate just like us through employment. We contribute more to the American society and should be given priority. I guess when we become American someday, we would like immigrants who contribute to our community too. Isn't that right? :)
that's just wishful thinking, there are lots and lots of good enterpreneuers who came through family based system, the whole system should be expanded, but not at the cost of family based green card system. even computer graduates ar being produced in bulk in india, evey third person in india is having some kind of bachelor's whether BSc or B.E, U.S won't simply absorb them just because they happen be skilled, however given that there are lots of people who have worked here for so many years, our quota should be expanded.

SRC is always Texas , LIN is Nebraska. Also when you input the receipt number in USCIS case status website it tells you which center this application is with.

However, in America, its first time after Martin Luther King Jr., that someone has tried to apply Gandhi's way to fight injustice. It is yet not clear that what would be the outcome of this campaign, but there are rumours that USCIS is already discussing internally to reverse the discriminatory decision which resulted in this flower campaign causing enough embarrassement to them.
Its amazing to witness that 60 years after Gandhi's demise, his ideology is still relevant. We are sure its gonna remain relevant till there are Lord Wavell's in this world. Wavell's can momentarily laugh thinking that unorganized immigrants are helpless, but when the peaceful protest will demonstrate its political power, they surely will realize what Gandhi and Gandhian ways are all about.

Can we also try to involve some professional organisations like, TIE here and NASSCOM there. Indian government should also atleast give feelers to US govt for this unjust move, even if they cannot abolish per country quota, they can atleast make it depending on few parameters:
